The main goal — which is the goal of graduate school — is not to learn everything, but rather to learn how to find out what you don't already know.

Perfectly true, and not just graduate school, but for all education. To grow and develop one needs tools and method, not rote facts. The elementary rote stuff (readin' writin' and 'rithmetic) should be set and done by the time kids are about ten. -- Bo
