StagesOfCredibility

A rule of thumb postulated by a colleague, for evaluating extreme or extraordinary information:

• If you hear it from one person, you've got a crackpot
• If you hear it from two people, it's a crackpot and a jerk friend
• If you hear it from three people, maybe it's real
