Three major modes of exploration are popular: chaotic, semi-structured, and personal.

Chaotic

• Click on the "Page Action:" button with the (default) "Random page" option to get an unpredictable sample of what's in this journal ...
• Fan outward from a page you like via normal hyperlinks ...
• Investigate links that point into an intriguing page by choosing "Backlinks" (in the popup list) and then clicking on "Page Action:"; from the resulting set, jump through links that look interesting ...

Semi-structured

• RecentChanges provides pointers to the latest additions and modifications ...
• TopicIndex offers a list of major themes, each of which contains human-generated links to relevant pages ...
• DateIndex gives a long-term chronological timeline-tabulation of pages ...
• [[FindPage?]] searches for a string across the entire Wiki ...
