So many delightfully apropos English words begin with "french". A few examples:

  • french roast - dark and flavorful, my favorite coffee variety
  • french fries - greasy salty slivers of potato perfection
  • french curves - lovely-in-themselves drafting tools for interpolating tangents
  • french toast - a gastronomic genius combination of fried-egg and browned-bread
  • french braids - tightly-coiled eye-catching hair
  • french horns - strident, powerful musical instruments
  • french vanilla - superlatively rich yellow-white ice cream
  • french defense - a solid and crusty chess opening for black
  • french bread - inimitable baguettes and batards
  • french kissing - ... (^_^) ...

And, more obscurely, the french drop: a subtle sleight-of-hand maneuver to vanish a coin during its passage from one hand to another. French magic ...
