Comments on Life Partner Criteria


see Thinking, Fast and Slow for comments on the virtue of "ridiculously simple rules-of-thumb" ... perhaps one should just list "Life Partner Criteria" and put a number between -5 and +5 next to each, then sum for a total rating? ... or simpler, add up -1 or 0 or +1 values? ... or even simpler, put checks by items and count the total number of checks! (^_^)

see 1979 Robyn Dawes paper "The Robust Beauty of Improper Linear Models in Decision Making" [1] --- much good there! --- --- in brief, human experts are pretty good at identifying important factors in judging a situation but much less-good at objectively integrating data --- and simply adding up a few relevant factors via a rule-of-thumb (like an APGAR score) often does a pretty decent job of ranking & prioritizing
