MacDurk is a fanciful combination of my surname with a prefix denoting both my Scottish heritage and affinity for Macintoshes (the computer made by Apple, not the apple itself nor the rainwear). Were I an extrovert, I would say more. Having said that, I am more vocal in community theater, but always as another character.

One of the drawing points of a Wiki is the opportunity to collaborate over vast distances (not perhaps as vast as those being pondered by SETI@Home, EINSTEIN@Home and other Distributed Computing endeavors), but globally reaching nevertheless. There is no way for any of us to meet everyone in one lifetime, but that does not mean we can't benefit from each other's experiences and world knowledge.
